Advanced Optical Microscope Core Facility
Advanced optical microscopes are essential scientific instruments for the observation and detection of fluorescence labeled samples. The Advanced Optical Microscope Core Facility was established in 2007 at the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center (ABRC). Services are available to Academia Sinica faculty members and their associates, academic institutions outside AS, and industry. We currently have the following instruments and equipment:
- Confocal microscope (LSM 780): Removes out-of-focus noise and acquires de-blurred fluorescence images.
- Super-resolution microscope (ELYRA S1): Enhances resolution higher than the limitations of optics.
- Light-sheet microscopes (Lightsheet Z1): Offer clear image quality for deep layer of big tissues.
- Spinning disk confocal microscope (Dragonfly): Offers high imaging speed with very low photo-toxicity for living samples.
