Infectious Diseases Research Project
The Infectious Diseases Research (IDR) Project aims at consolidating the infectious diseases research capabilities in Academia Sinica, and fostering cross-unit collaboration in relevant detection technologies as well as research and development of drugs, antibodies, vaccines, and the determination of pathogenic mechanisms. To establish a comprehensive environment for epidemic research and development and to enhance overall research capabilities, the IDR Project also provides interdisciplinary laboratory support, such as molecular structural biology, antibody development, animal models, and P3 laboratories.
Key platform of technologies, cells and animals for disease models, and optimized protocols established under the IDR Project, as well as samples, biological materials and data that are collected under the project will be deposited and preserved for long-term maintenance at the National Biotechnology Research Park as a critical national resource for emerging infectious diseases prevention and control.
